Come write with me.

At the end of last week’s post, I shared the exciting news that I will be the Writer in Residence at Mattie Furphy House for FAWWA (Fellowship of Australian Writers WA) from 30 October to 10 November.

I will be working on one of my novels and getting involved in FAWWA events that you can join in too, if you happen to be in/near Swanbourne at the time:

  • “Tomato Writing” Workshop on Saturday, 4 November from 1-4pm at a nominal cost ($10 for FAWWA members / $15 for non-members) — I chose this topic particularly because we’re entering into NaNoWriMo season. I’ll be running this workshop to help you get more words from your practice by writing in short bursts. Come prepared to write and share!
  • Write Night on Tuesday, 7 November from 6-8pm ($5 members / $10 non-members) — I am honoured to be attending as a guest for this session, talking about creativity and inspiration.
  • Friday @ Furphy’s on Friday, 10 November from 5-7pm ($5 for everyone!) — at this event, I think I will be reading something(s) and speaking about my creative writing journey so far (which, given I do not yet have a manuscript under contract, is a case study on embracing rejection). Should be fun and eye-opening for everyone including me.

You can register for any or all of these sessions via FAWWA — (08) 9384 4771 or admin.fawwa@iinet.net.au

I hope to see you there!
